rewarded, renewed and ready for business

Working closely with local business to help improve their work environment. Improving their culture and productivity by helping them make healthier and more sustainable choices.

Great work requires a healthy positive environment. We create better balance through great food and a quality shared eating experience.

MAKING SUCCESS SUSTAINABLE.

We strive for the lowest environmental impact with a common sense sourcing and service policies.

What is sustainable for the individual may not be the case locally or for the planet. It is a balance that is never perfect but we do our best.

Currently working on ways to improve our waste management and lower the impact of cleaning products.

Our Service

A grazing approach that helps create richer memories through more meaningful interactions.

Our Service

A grazing approach that helps create richer memories through more meaningful interactions.

Fun and informal 'street food' styled service.

We believe catering should complement an event and not unnecessarily control it. Time together is best remembered through it's interactions so these should be maximised.

A flexible approach to fit your requirements and with the 'know how' to deliver our menus both in and out doors.

Food served from a single service point (buffet) or placed on communal sharing tables.

We do not offer the traditional seated fine food dinning experience.

A genuine and personal level of service, you cannot buy with agency staff.

The person you speak to over the phone will most likely be the same person helping to prepare, cook and serve your food.

We could not deliver on our promises and goals without a happy team behind us. Always looking to work with similar minded people. Prizing a good attitude over experience.

My Story

My Story

My name is Dan…

I have always looked for meaning and emotional engagement in my career. Before setting up Spade and Spoon I found this in music industry. Working in record labels and music publishers for a number of years before setting up as a music consultant to film and advertising.

For 16 years I had the enormous pleasure of researching and picking the right music to emotionally connect with people with visuals. This was one of my very first adverts!

Over time, my values and circumstances changed and started looking for new challenges. Moving back to my home town of Brighton, I wanted to better connect with a local community. Keeping the same passion and creativity of music but in a more grounded and authentic way. Creating bigger opportunities to make a genuine difference in our clients lives.

I have worked from home most of life and frequently found myself in the kitchen. Food became a big passion and wasn’t such a big step for me to think about a future in it. Music and food share so many similarities and are important ways of how we connect with with each other.

Giving up music, I got myself trailer, ‘Rosie’, to embark on my own self styled catering university. Trading around events and private parties with the help of family and friends. None of this could ever have got off the ground without the continued help of my mum and dad, Annie and Tony.

Learning a whole new way of working is hard work but also a lot fun. Happily now joined by my wife, Kate who brings many years of catering experience as well as being a qualified nutritionist. We can see how our my life’s goals can be fulfilled through food. There is still a lot to learn and do with our service.

We want to keep finding more ways to provide solutions to our clients and add value to our local community.
