Salary: hourly rate or salary depending on experience
Schedule: Full time 5 days per week / 8 - 10 hr daytime shifts / never work on a Sunday
Preferred Experience: 1 year working in a busy kitchen environment or time spent training, with knowledge of all the basic food safety procedures.
The Grill Line Chef has a key role in delivering our brunch / lunch menu quickly and to a high standard. You will be working in an open kitchen with a direct connection to our customers.
Helping to cook and serve fresh made menus using the best local ingredients inspired by our Eating England theme. Creating foods with an exciting balance of familiarity and innovation, comfort and health.
Although we are currently working from a temporary kitchen we can still knock out a great menu at pace and volume. You will be working within our cook to order section which includes our grill and speed oven as well as our chilled assembly unit.
This will cover breakfast and lunch servings which can get very busy and requires a calm organised work flow as well as good attention to presentation detail. If and when required you will also be asked to help with other general food preparation.
We will be moving back into our rebuilt cafe space at the end of this summer which will have around 150 covers in a beautiful open glassed space full of plants. This will provide greater opportunities for your role and potential growth at Spade and Spoon.

Main duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to
Managing the Cook To Order section alongside Dan the owner.
Cooking and assembling breakfast and lunch menus to a high standard
Maintain the highest food hygiene standards including temp logs and cleaning
Assisting with the set up and close down of the section
When required, provide assistance to general food preparation.
